A planning application has been submitted for two detached houses on the Linney (14/04328/FUL). These will fill the last green gap along the Linney beside Castle Grange. Comments should be submitted by 7 November.
Applicants Les Stephan Planning say:
The design of the two dwellings has been determined by reference to the characteristics of The Linney, the visual quality of the existing dwellings along it (particularly the recently constructed dwellings, West View and Castle Grange) and the need to be mindful of the setting of the site to the north of Ludlow Castle within the Ludlow Conservation Area.
Update 13 November
I have formally objected to this development:
Objection to development on land off Burway Lane 14-04215-OUT
I’m much less concerned about this than the truly damaging proposal for houses on Burway Lane (which will obliterate – for the public – the wonderful view of the castle from that ancient public right of way). And then there’s the ridiculous proposals for a new, completely detached from the rest of the town suburb off the A49. And don’t get me started about the supermarket at Rocks Green… argh, this all makes me so depressed.
As a member of the public and a frequent walker on the Shropshire Way green road at Burway Lane, I Agree entirely with Mr. D. Jones. There is also the inevitable ghastliness of a massive increase in traffic funneling into a narrow single track lane on Burway Lane from 6 new houses at its dead end, and emerging onto a busy high road, Bromfield Road, if the applicaion is consented.
