We are midway through updating planning policy in Ludlow and Shropshire. The current stage of the local plan review is looking at where houses and employment areas might be built. The council’s site allocation consultation runs until 31 January.
A meeting will be held to discuss the council’s proposals on 14 January at 6pm in Elim Church Hall, Ludlow.
Planning officers are holding several public meetings throughout the county. The aim of the meetings is to explain the local plan process and the proposals for local development. They will provide an opportunity to highlight issues, concerns or to suggest alternatives to the preferred approach set out in the consultation document. The proposals for Ludlow are here.

The Ludlow Meeting will be held on Monday 14 January at the Elim Church Hall, Lower Galdeford, Ludlow, SY8 1RT from 6pm to 8pm.
Under discussion will be the Preferred Sites Consultation Document which outlines a housing policy direction to improve the delivery of local housing needs. It establishes development guidelines and development boundaries for Ludlow and community hubs including Burford and Clee Hill. It sets out the council’s preferred sites for housing and employment growth during the period 2016 to 2036.
The Ludlow presentation will be an opportunity for residents to learn more about the proposals from the Shropshire Council planning policy officers. Residents are encouraged to come along to the meeting and to put their views forward regarding the proposed housing and employment sites, any issues which concern them or to suggest alternative sites to the Planning Policy Officers.
