We live in uncertain economic times. We already know of people in the hospitality industry who are being laid off. Other employees could eventually be affected. The Ludlow Food Bank already serves a lot of people who are struggling. The Covid-19 crisis makes it more important for the health of our community than ever.
The Food Bank needs food. Tinned and dried food. Easy cook food. Long life. Daily essentials. Sanitary and cleaning products. Personal and household. And one of the best ways you can help with this is by making cash donations. The details of how to do so are below.
Ludlow Food Bank had its busiest year to date last year giving out 471 food parcels. There are many donation points for food around the town in supermarkets and churches. In the current circumstances, you may wish to make a direct financial contribution. Cheques should be made out to Ludlow Baptist Church, writing “Food parcel scheme” or “Food Bank” on the back of the cheque. You can also pay directly into the Food Bank Account through BACS directly to the account: Sort code 40-30-30; Account 41276387. The church administers the account but does not benefit. All donations are used to buy food.
The Food Bank has volunteers prepared to deliver to doorsteps. Also, volunteers to shop. It is coordinating with Hands Together Ludlow to deliver shopping to people who can’t get out or shop online. There will be a small charge for this service to cover costs. This could change as this public health emergency accelerates.
