Plans to construct a solar farm on the outskirts of Ludlow will top the agenda of the next meeting of the Ludlow and Clee Local Joint Committee on 4 June. The meeting will also discuss plans for future youth services in the area.
In April, Kronos Solar applied for planning permission for a 13 hectare (32 acre) solar farm between Lower Ledwyche and Henley Hall. Ahead of decision by Shropshire Council on whether the scheme can go ahead, Kronos will be holding a public drop in session in Knowbury village hall from 4pm to 6pm.
During the main meeting in Knowbury village hall, which begins at 7pm, Kronos will be taking questions from the public.
Malcolm Price, Shropshire Council’s lead councillor for planning, will attend the meeting and explain how solar farms are assessed in the planning system. He’ll also take questions on other planning matters.
Richard Huffer, councillor for Clee and chairman of the LJC, says:
Everyone is welcome at this meeting. Solar farms are a big issue in this area at the moment. The Henley Hall solar farm has caused a lot of local concern. This is an opportunity to see what is being proposed and ask questions of the promoters Kronos. The meeting is also a chance to find out what is going on in your area and to talk to your local councillors.
